April 25 through May 18 Artists Opening May 2 from 5:30 to 8pm
The Granby Camera Club was founded 20years ago to “pursue photography as an art form.” We welcome to our club all who share a passion to learn, create, and enjoy the beauty of photography. The club includes photographers of every level of ability.
The Club meets at the Granby Senior Center the first Monday of each month from September to June. These meetings and their follow up workshops feature various special programs related to photography – technique, photographic equipment, computer programs, landscape, portrait and pet photography( to name a few), field trips as well as editing workshops. A regular element of the club includes photos taken by members during the month to represent views of specific words - a “scavenger hunt.” These words are selected by members who also submit a favorite photo for the month. The Club then selects the winners. These photographs are displayed at the Senior Center Community Room. Members of the club have had photos featured in the Simsbury Bank Calendars, provided photos for a rotating exhibit at the Kelly Lane School and have a yearly exhibit at the Granby Library during the month of June.
The club's website is available to members that features a photo gallery, a forum for discussions related to photography and a section for various events or locations that one might want to pursue. Members of the club have had photos featured in the Simsbury Bank calendars and provide photos for a rotating exhibit at the Kelly Lane School. To celebrate the 20th anniversary, The GCC is excited to present a Photographic Exhibit at Lost Acres Vineyard starting April 25 through May 19. The artist’s reception will be held on Friday, May 2 from 5:30-8 pm.
