Yoga for Equestrians
Join us for a yoga program designed to improve a rider's posture, balance, confidence and overall performance. This special workshop will help you learn postures and techniques that will enhance your riding.
No yoga experience is necessary to participate in this practice. Students are offered modifications to adapt the practice to their individual abilities and needs. |
Rachel began practicing yoga many years ago. Motivated to address back pain and diagnosed with scoliosis, Rachel shortly realized that yoga could change her life in many ways.
Rachel has been working with the Lost Acres Vineyard team for 3 years. We are avid riders and over the years have shared our experiences and needs with Rachel. In that time Rachel has learned about the unique requirements that horse riding bring to your body. She was inspired to learn more which lead her to Sally Swift's Centered Riding program.
Sally Swift's approach resonated with Rachel, as they both suffered with scoliosis, leading Sally to riding and Rachel to yoga. From there, Rachel has also spent some time in the saddle, for the purpose of understanding how your body works with the horse to develop yoga for her riding students.
These experiences have helped her develop a yoga practice designed to complement and support the needs of equestrians.
