Exquisite Alchemy explores the tremendous power of creativity to transform matter, energy and lives.
It is the creative spirit within all humans that lifts us spiritually, physically and emotionally. Whether through stirring works of art, delicious foods, inspiring music, or creative solutions to physical challenges, it is creativity that drives innovation, art and culture. Any object you use on a daily basis began in someone’s imagination before it came into being. Any song you hum, or piece of jewelry you wear did not exist until an artist conceived it, and then brought it into physical manifestation. Creativity is at the core of our lives on all levels, in all ways.
Members of the Metalclay Artisan Guild in CT, with nothing more than their imagination, creative spirit, and a few simple tools, transform shapeless lumps of clay into objects of exquisite beauty. The alchemy of the kiln transforms the fragile creations into metal pieces that are durable and strong as well as beautiful.
As individual artists, we each find ways to express our creative voices through this magnificent and malleable medium. As a group, we are dedicated to fostering artistic growth in each other and anyone who cares to explore their own creative expression in this way. We hope you enjoy this selection of our work.
